WH and I were talking last night, and he made a point of telling me how awesome I am. I told him he should make a list of all the reasons I’m awesome (because I’m gracious like that). He scoffed a little at the idea that I could make a list for him, so here it is:
- He does a good job of telling me how cute, smart, funny and awesome I am on a regular basis.
- He makes one hell of a Shepherd’s Pie.
- He’s super cute, especially when he keeps his hair cut.
- He sees the best and worst in me, and loves me still.
- He makes me laugh- all the time.
- He is trying as hard as he can to be the best person/man/husband he can.
- Even when something is beyond his control, if it effects me negatively, it bothers him.
- Even though he makes me watch things like the History of Cement, I love how curious he is about everything.
- He nags me to take better care of myself, and mostly is able to do this without giving me a guilt trip for surfing the couch all weekend and eating Oreos for dinner.
- We have a ton of history, which he draws on often and appreciates, but he also loves me enough to start over at the beginning if he thinks it’s the best thing for us.
- Not only does he occasionally go grocery shopping with me, but when he does, he doesn’t interfere with my neurotic rituals.
- He not only understands but appreciates my oddities. Like when I asked him if we could get a covered jetway for the back of the house so I can get in the basement without braving the winter wind.
- I would never admit this to my father, but it tickles me endlessly that my husband can out-fish nearly any man we’ve ever met. He’s the Fish Whisperer or something.
- He accepts and to some extent perpetuates my love of the critters, and though we do so very differently, he cares for Adicus and even the cats in a firm but tender manner.
- He hides it well, but he is actually a pretty compassionate person.
- His carefree spirit provides me with endless adventures.
- He knows when to take my to do lists and budgets and project notebooks away from me and make me live in the moment.
- He’s proud of me, and though he’s not proud of himself lately, he supports and encourages me in my career, my education, and my interests.
- He appreciates my awesomeness.

Good list, VBC.
What a great list. I might steal the idea so that, everytime I’m feeling down, I can look at it and think… things aren’t that bad.
Sounds like you definitely snagged a good one… they’re so rare!
